🔗 Share this article Vinted Shoppers Express Anger Regarding Size Updates Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused listings displaying inaccurate size information. The second-hand shopping app has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Backlash Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Required Changes Another shopper, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change within the service has received backlash: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
